NORMANĀ -Ā The Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams return to Lubbock, Texas, for the second straight weekend for the Texas Tech Invitational and Multis, Jan. 29-30.Ā
The meet is scheduled to begin with multi events at 11:00 a.m. CT on Friday. Multi-competition will continue Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. CT.Ā Juniors Madison Langley-Walker and Kristo Simulask will compete for the Sooners in the pentathlon and heptathlon, respectively.Ā

The University of Oklahoma's men's and women's track and field teams competed in their third meet of the season at the Red Raider Invitational in Lubbock, Texas on Saturday, Jan. 23. The Sooners collected a combined 10 victories on the day with three coming from the field and seven on the track.Ā
SeniorĀ Lauren JonesĀ got the Sooners started strong with their first win of the meet. Jones claimed the women's weight throw title for the second week in a row, recording a mark of 65-9.5 (20.05m). SophomoreĀ Geraldine UdoĀ joined Jones in the event, throwing a personal-best 54-10.25 (16.72m). Udo's throw earned her sixth place.Ā
OU's second win came in the women's pole vault from seniorĀ Colleen Clancy. Clancy recorded a personal-best mark of 13-7.75 (4.16m), placing her fifth on OU's all-time top-10 list. Fellow seniorĀ Abby BilsburyĀ cleared 12-8 (3.86m), claiming a fourth-place finish. JuniorĀ Gabby CarsonĀ notched a mark of 12-2 (3.71m) and seventh-place finish.Ā
SophomoreĀ Carson HockersmithĀ grabbed the Sooners' third victory of the meet in the women's mile. Hockersmith ran a personal-best 5:01.70. On the men's side of the event, redshirt sophomoreĀ Jordan GledhillĀ ran away with OU's fourth victory and a personal-best time. Gledhill crossed the finish line at 4:21.45.
The Sooners' fifth victory came from redshirt juniorĀ Isaiah LevingstonĀ in the men's 60-meter hurdles. Levingston recorded a personal-best 7.86 to secure the win. SeniorĀ Jasher FosterĀ made his Sooner debut with a second-place finish and time of 8.06. During the prelims, Levingston notched first with a time of 7.99, while Foster finished in 8.21 and sixth-place finish.
SeniorĀ Demarius SmithĀ claimed his team's sixth meet victory. Smith's win came in the men's 60-meter dash after recording a personal-best 6.67. The senior's time improved his spot from seventh to sixth on OU's all-time top-10 list. JuniorĀ Quoi EllisĀ finished in 6.80, earning fifth place. SophomoreĀ Alajuwan RobinsonĀ took seventh with a time of 6.89. In the prelims, Smith ran a 6.76, earning him third place. Ellis finished in 6.80 and fifth, while Robinson crossed the line at 6.88, taking eighth.Ā
OU's seventh win on the day came from juniorĀ Kennedy BlackmonĀ in the women's 400-meter dash. Blackmon crossed the line at 55.38 to secure the victory. SophomoreĀ Nia SimsĀ joined Blackmon in the event, recording a personal-best 58.99 and ninth-place finish.Ā
FreshmanĀ Fernando MoralesĀ claimed the Sooners' eighth win of the meet. Morales' victory came in the men's 1,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 5:01.70.
SeniorĀ Rayvon AllenĀ secured the Sooners' ninth win on the day. Allen took home the victory in the men's long jump, leaping 24-5.5 (7.45m). SeniorĀ Garry WilliamsĀ recorded a mark of 23-1.25 (7.04m), finishing in seventh.Ā
The Sooners' men's 4x400 squad earned the teams last win of the day. The team composed of Smith, Levingston, freshmanĀ Salim EppsĀ and Allen completed the race in 3:09.32.
The Sooners' men's and women's track and field teams checked in at No. 13 and 20, respectively, according to USTFCCA's Indoor National Rating Index. In addition, the Sooners hold eight top-10 spots on the 2020-2021 NCAA Division I Indoor Qualifying List.Ā
On the men's side, redshirt junior Vernon Turner shares the No. 1 spot in the high jump after a 7-4.25 (2.24m) mark at the Arkansas Invite on Jan. 16. Senior Demarius Smith holds the No. 6 spot in the 200-meter dash for a 20.87 performance at the Arkansas Invite on Jan. 16. Smith also holds the eighth spot for the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.69 from the Red Raider Invite on Jan. 23. Senior Cooper Campbell holds sixth in shot put after throwing 63-6.75 (19.37m) at the K-State Winter Invite on Dec. 5, 2020. Redshirt junior Isaiah Levingston claims the 10th spot in the 60-meter hurdles with his 7.88 performance at the Red Raider Invite on Jan. 23. The men's 4x400-relay team, made up of Smith, Levingston, Salim Epps and Rayvon Allen holds the No. 10 spot after their 3:09.32 Red Raider Invite performance.Ā
On the women's side, sophomore Payden Montana and junior Faith Ette rank fifth and ninth, respectively, in the shot put. Montana's spot came after a 54-2.5 (16.52m) throw at the Red Raider Invite on Jan. 23, while Ette's was a 53-0.25 (16.16m) performance at the K-State Winter Invite on Dec. 5, 2020.Ā
