Sooners Tulsa Bound Wednesday

NORMAN – The Oklahoma men's tennis team heads to Tulsa for an in-state rivalry match Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT.

The Sooners (11-4) will look for their fourth consecutive victory after racking up three wins over the weekend, giving up just one team point as OU took down UMKC 7-0; Nebraska 6-1; and Arkansas-Pine Bluff 6-0.

Mason Beiler is the Sooners' representative in the ITA singles rankings, where he checks in at No. 104. The sophomore is 7-4 on the season and has won his last four straight.

Two more Sooners ride significant streaks into the match. Senior Jochen Bertsch has won his last seven matches and is 10-3 on the season with a 5-0 record on court six. Justin Schlageter has won six straight entering Wednesday's contest, playing primarily on court five.

OU holds a 27-10 advantage in the all-time series with Tulsa and has won nine of the last 10 meetings. The teams last met in 2019 in Norman, where the Sooners prevailed 4-1 in a singles comeback after dropping the doubles point.
