NORMANĀ -Ā The Oklahoma track and field teams kick off their 2020-21 indoor campaign on Saturday at the Kansas State Winter Invitational in Manhattan, Kan.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. CT with the field events before the track events get going at 1 p.m. The meet will be on a rolling schedule throughout Saturday. A total of 38 Sooners are slated to compete in the season opener.
"I expect that they will show us what we've worked on all fall," said OU head coach Tim Langford. "Besides them just being happy to be in competition again, I think they're focused on having success. For some of them, it'll be just knocking the rust off. For some that are coming out of high school or transferring in, they'll get a chance to see development under new coaches and a new system which is positive because it provides momentum and excitement.Ā
"For our returners, it's if they can pick up where they left off. I'll leave it in an open-ended question because for so many it's a different answer, but I think everyone has positive expectations for this weekend."
