FIVE THINGS TO KNOWĀ

  • OU hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff Tuesday at 7 p.m. inside Lloyd Noble Center in the final non-conference contest of the season and final game of the 2020 calendar year.
    Ā
  • The Sooners and the Golden Lions will meet for just the third time in program history, exactly 10 years to the day from the teams' last meeting on Dec. 29, 2010 in Norman, where the Sooners prevailed 118-52. That win tied for the fourth largest margin of victory in Oklahoma history.
    Ā
  • In their last outing, the Sooners shot a season-best .509 clip on 27-for-53 shooting from the floor against South Dakota. OU shotĀ .609 (14-for-23) in the first half and closed out the game with 25 points in the fourth quarter, good for the Sooners' most in a quarter this season.
    Ā
  • For the first time since Dec. 10, the Sooners will be fully staffed with all nine members of the roster available for Tuesday's game. OU had been playing with a limited roster over the last four games due to COVID-19 contact tracing protocol within the program.
    Ā
  • OU's freshman trio has shone in the Sooners' last four games. Heavenly Greer, Nevaeh Tot and Skylar Vann have combined for 73 points, 54 rebounds and 24 assists in the last four contests.

GAME SIX RECAP: OU 80, SOUTH DAKOTA 73

Finally back to full strength, Oklahoma fended off a feisty South Dakota team on Dec. 20 with a 80-73 win.

The Sooners shot 50.9% (27-for-53) from the field and 46.7% (7-for-15) from beyond the arc as three players scored in double figures.

Taylor RobertsonĀ had a season-high 27 points on 8-for-11 shooting, drained four of OU's seven 3-pointers on the day and hit seven of seven from the free throw line.

Madi WilliamsĀ logged 19 points, four rebounds and three assists in her return after missing three games due to COVID-19 contact tracing protocol.

Gabby GregoryĀ put up 15 points, scoring 11 in the first half. The sophomore also pulled down six rebounds and added an assist and a steal.

Freshman point guardĀ Nevaeh TotĀ filled the box score once again as she scored nine points to go with sixĀ rebounds and a career-high seven assists.

Liz ScottĀ led all players in rebounds as she collected seven and scored six points.

FRESHMAN TAKEOVER

OU's three freshmen have combined for 73 points, 54 rebounds and 24 assists over the last three games as the
Sooners' have had a limited number of players available.

Nevaeh Tot is averaging 8.7 points per game this season. Additionally, Tot is averaging 5.2 assists per game
this year, good for third among Big 12 players and second among Big 12 freshmen, trailing only Iowa State
newcomer Emily Ryan (6.0 APG)

Tot has played all 40 minutes in three of OU's last four games and a total of 208 (34.6 per game) this season,
giving her the most minutes of any freshman in the league.

Skylar Vann set a new career high of 11 points against Texas State (Dec. 13) and matched it against Oklahoma
State (Dec. 15). Vann is averaging 8.0 points per game, making her fourth on the team in scoring.

Vann finished with 11 points on 4-for-7 shooting, 3-for-4 shooting from the 3-point line, seven rebounds and
three (of OU's four) blocks in the win over Texas State. The Edmond, Okla., native also set a new career high in rebounds against Oklahoma State (Dec. 15), logging a game-high nine.

Against Texas State, Heavenly GreerĀ doubled her previous career high in rebounds as she pulled down a
game-high 10 against Texas State.

HELP ASSIST-ER OUT

Freshman Nevaeh Tot is averaging 5.2 assists per game, good for third among Big 12 players and tied 21st among Power 5 players nationally. She has logged 31 on the season to tie for 40th nationally and 21st among Power Five players.Ā Tot also ranks 13th in the league in assist-turnover ratio (31 assists/21 TO).

Tot matched her career high with seven assists against South Dakota (Dec. 20). The freshman has racked up five or more assists in five of the last six games this season.

Should Tot continue to average 5.2 assists or more in OU's 17 remaining games this season, she will certainly earn a place on OU's freshman assists list (the minimum total assists Tot needs to make the list is 68 to tie Shaina Pellington in 2017-18). The freshman assists record is held by all-time Sooner great Stacey Dales, who logged 150 during the 1998-99 season.

REACH FOR THE SKY

Freshman Skylar VannĀ is averaging 5.4 rebounds per contest and has averaged 7.3 rebounds per game over the last three games. Vann has pulled down five rebounds or more in four of OU's last five outings, including a career-best nine rebounds against Oklahoma State (Dec. 13).
