NORMAN ? The Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams host the 18th annual J.D. Martin Invitational on Saturday at Mosier Indoor Facility on the OU campus in Norman.?
The meet begins at 10 a.m. CT with the women's weight throw, and admission is free to fans. The invitational is the second home meet of the indoor season, following the Sooner Challenge held on Jan. 19. The Sooners collected 19 event victories at that meet and look to continue their success at home this weekend.?
"We obviously love competing at home," OU head coach Jim VanHootegem said. "That's always a good energy for our team. We have two more weeks left in the regular season of indoors, so it goes fast."
Through three weeks of indoor season, four of OU's event groups own top-10 spots in the USTFCCCA Event Group Rankings. Women's shot put ranks 10th nationally, while women's pole vault checks in at fourth and men's triple jump sits at second. After strong performances last weekend at the Dr. Sander/Columbia Challenge in New York City, OU's women triple jumpers collectively rank first in the nation.?
Live results from the J.D. Martin Invitational will be available through PTTiming,?and final results can be found on SoonerSports.com following the meet.
