Sooners Set For Crimson Tide Invitational

NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma track and field team begins competition Friday at the Crimson Tide Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Held Friday and Saturday at the Sam Bailey Track and Field Complex on the campus of the University of Alabama, the meet will kick off at 3:30 p.m. CT Friday with the women's hammer throw and conclude with the men's 10,000 meters at 10:30 p.m.

Saturday's events begin at 9:10 a.m. CT with the women's discus and will conclude with the men's 4x400-meter relay at 3:50 p.m.

OU returns to action after competing at the 91st Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays last weekend in Austin. The Sooners recorded 11 top-five finishes, highlighted by Jess Woodard's shot put title and school-record throw of 190-9 (58.14 meters) in the women's discus. The women's team moved up a spot from 17th to 16th in this week's national rankings, according to the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association.
