Sooners Conclude Second Day in South Carolina

NORMAN – Oklahoma women's golf concluded its second day at the Clemson Invitational in Sunset, S.C., on Saturday. The Sooners shot a 292 (+4) at the 6,260-yard, par-72 Reserve at Lake Keowee, sitting in 11th place with one round remaining.
"We haven't executed on the easy holes this weekend which has made it difficult for us to get momentum as a team," said OU head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell. It is important for us to go out tomorrow believing in our abilities and close the tournament on a high note."
Senior Valerie Tanguay, who is competing in the event as an individual, shot a career-low 67 in a round that included a hole in one on the 166-yard 4th hole. Tanguay is tied for third with a two-day score of 137 (-7) and is two strokes behind leader Reona Hirai of Furman.
Senior Rylee Pedigo led the Sooners in the lineup with an even-par 72. Pedigo is tied for 35th and is 2-over through two rounds.
Senior Hannah Wood strung together four birdies over her first eight holes and shot a 1-over 73 on the day. She is tied for 32nd with a 145 (+1). Junior Julienne Soo shot a 73 (+21) senior Ana Ruiz shot a 74 (+3) and freshman Kaitlin Milligan produced a 75 (+3).
Furman leads the event with a two-round score of 550 (-26).
