NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma women's golf team moved up three spots to third place after firing a 289 (+1) in the second round of the Clemson Invitational. The 14-team event, which features three teams in the top 25, is being played at the par-72, 6,253-yard Reserve at Lake Keowee course in Sunset, S.C.

The Sooners sit at 578 (+2) through two rounds and are just four strokes off tournament leader and No. 8-ranked Florida (-2). Furman is in second place with a 577 (+1) and Michigan State and Vanderbilt are tied for fourth, each with a 579 (+3).

Hannah Wood leads the Sooners with a 143 (-1) after posting a 70 (-2) in Saturday's second round. The sophomore pocketed four birdies in her 13th par-or-better round of the season.

Classmate Valerie Tanguay collected five birdies on the day en route to a career-best 69 (-3). Tanguay shares 14th place (145; +1) with fellow sophomore Ana Ruiz, who shot a 75 (+3).

Freshman Julienne Soo carded a 75 (+3) and is tied for 29th place at 149 (+5) and sophomore Rylee Pedigo shares 38th with a 151 (+7) after shooting a 79 (+7) on Saturday.

Freshman Karen Arimoto is playing as an individual in the event and is unattached from team scoring. Arimoto shot an 81 (+9) in the second round and is tied for 67th place.

“We played well again today,” OU head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell said. “Conditions were tough coming down the stretch and we played solid. We've had a great game plan all week and we're going to stick to it tomorrow.”

The Sooners will tee off for Sunday's final round of the Clemson Invitational at 7:30 a.m. CT. Live scoring is available at GolfStat.com.
