NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's golf team is in 14th place after the first 18 holes of the LSU Tiger Golf Classic with a 319 (+31). The three-day, 54-hole tournament is taking place at the par-72, 6,236-yard University Club in Baton Rouge, La.
No. 2 Duke leads the 17-team field at 293 (+5). No. 7 Arkansas is in second with a 299 (+11), and No. 18 Tennessee holds third with a 302 (+14).
Pacing the Sooners is Valerie Tanguay. The sophomore fired a 77 (+5) Sunday and is tied for 25th.
Classmate Rylee Pedigo is tied for 45th after carding a 79 (+7) for the round, pocketing two birdies and an eagle. One stroke behind Pedigo is freshman Julienne Soo, who holds a tie for 56th.
Sophomores Ana Ruiz and Hannah Wood are in ties for 78th and 84th, respectively, at 83 (+11) and 84 (+12).
The second round of the LSU Tiger Golf Classic is scheduled to begin Monday morning. The Sooners tee times will start at 9:15 a.m. CT, and live stats will be available on GolfStat.com.
