NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma women's golf team travels to Mesa, Ariz. This Friday-Sunday (March 12-14) for the fifth annual Clover Cup. The 17-team tournament will be played at the par-72, 6,184-yard Longbow Golf Club.
The Sooners are coming off an eighth-place finish at the Hurricane Invitational, played at the par-71 Biltmore Golf Course in Miami, Fla. OU fired an 872 (+20), its lowest 54-hole score of the season. Hannah Wood paced the Sooners in the event, tallying a 213 (E) in the event for a share of 11th place. The sophomore has placed in the top 20 in all five 2015-16 tournaments.
“We've had some great practices since we got back from Miami,” OU head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell said. “Our last round at the Hurricane Invitational was a confidence builder for us and we should be able to bring that momentum into this week.”

The Sooners have a tradition of success at the Clover Cup. Last season, then-freshman Hannah Wood took her first collegiate crown, firing a 209 (-7). The 2012-13 Oklahoma squad topped the team leaderboard after shooting an 862 (-2).
