Game Notes
Oklahoma now trails the all-time series against Alabama, 8-4 ...the Sooners are 11-10 all-time in Super Regional play and 89-42 in postseason play in program history ... it was the third time this season that OU was shut out ... Oklahoma's one hit was a season low ... the Sooners are 1-1 in game three of a Super Regional ... OU has lost back-to-back games only twice this season

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – There will be a decisive game three in the Alabama Super Regional after the sixth-ranked Crimson Tide shut out No. 11 Oklahoma, 2-0, Saturday afternoon. The two teams will meet again Saturday night at 7:15 p.m. on ESPN2 to see who will go to the Women's College World Series.

Oklahoma is 1-1 all-time in game three of the Super Regionals, losing at Washington, 4-0, in 2010 and beating Tennessee last year in Norman, 8-2. Alabama is also 1-1 in game three of the Supers, falling to Hawaii, 5-4, in 2010, and defeating Stanford, 1-0, in 2011.

In game two of the 2015 Super Regional, the Sooners (49-8) failed to score a run for just the third time this season and were limited to just one hit, a season low, by Alabama (46-13).

It was a pitchers' duel between two of the three finalists for the NFCA Freshman of the Year: Oklahoma's Paige Parker and Alabama's Alexis Osorio. After Parker emerged with the win Friday night in game one, Osorio returned the favor in game two.

Parker struck out four and allowed just two runs on two hits and three walks but fell to 28-6 on the season. Conversely, Osorio gave up a lone single while striking out seven and walking three to push her mark to 20-8.

After two scoreless innings, Alabama broke through in the third.

OU starter Paige Parker got a pair of flyouts to start the inning, but she issued a four-pitch walk to Haylie McCleney to extend the frame. Jadyn Spencer made Parker pay for the free pass by homering on a 3-2 pitch to left field. It was Spencer's sixth home run of the season.

The Sooners were held hitless through four innings, but presented their best scoring chance in the fifth inning.

Parker started the inning with a walk after a 10-pitch at-bat before junior Whitney Ellis replaced her as a pinch runner. A sacrifice bunt from junior Kady Self moved Ellis to second, and junior Tori Nirschl followed with a walk to put two runners on.

After a strikeout, senior Callie Parsons came up. It was Parsons who delivered OU's first hit of the game in the sixth inning in game one, and she came through again in game two as she reached on an infield single up the middle. Her single Friday opened a five-run inning for Oklahoma, but unfortunately, the same didn't happen Saturday as a strikeout ended the threat.

Oklahoma had one last chance in the bottom of the seventh, twice bringing the tying run to the plate.

Self drew a one-out walk and moved up to second on a groundout, but a pop up to second base by pinch hitter Jessica Vest ended the contest.
