Replays of the Big 12 meet are set for Monday at 12 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 11 p.m. and Wednesday, May 27, 7 a.m. on Fox Sports Oklahoma Additional broadcasts on other Fox network can be found on the attached PDF.
All the broadcasts will feature an OU women's team that jumped back into the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association national rankings. The Sooners are ranked 22nd in the latest ranking list released Monday. It marks the second time this season for OU to be in the top 25. The Sooners broke into the top 25 in the poll released April 27, then dropped to 26th the next two weeks.
The rankings use a scoring system for the teams that is the sum of two factors measured per individual/relay performance on the descending-order lists: place on the descending order list and a weighed value of the individual/relay performance based on the field (“bonus”). They are not considered a poll as there is no voting on the teams within the list.
These are the last set of rankings based on the descending order lists. The next rankings, to be released Tuesday, May 26, will be based on the entries for the NCAA preliminary rounds, and the final rankings — coming out Monday, June 1 — will be based on the qualifiers to the NCAA finals.
The fields for the NCAA preliminary rounds are to be announced at noon central time on Thursday. The top 48 individuals and the top 24 relays will advance to each of two prelims to be held May 28-30. The Sooners will be traveling to Austin, Texas, for the West prelims. From the prelims, the top 12 individuals and top 12 relays will advance to the NCAA Championships June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore.
