December 11, 2015 | Women's Golf
NORMAN – Former OU women's golfer Anne-Catherine Tanguay received her conditional LPGA tour card after finishing in 38th place at the 2015 LPGA Qualifying School.
The qualifying school is a three-stage tournament in which golfers compete and advance to receive membership to the LPGA Tour. With the card, Tanguay becomes the sixth Sooner to reach the LPGA ranks and joins Audra Burks, Kendall Dye and Isabelle Beisiegel as the only active OU women's golfers in the tour. Tanguay registered a five-round 360 (E), including a 68 (-4) in the third round of Stage III, which was played at the par-72 Hill and Jones courses of LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
"This represents a big step forward toward achieving my goals. I am really looking forward to having the opportunity to compete at the next level and to gain more experience."

With her conditional card, Tanguay will compete part time as an LPGA player with the possibility of moving to full-time status.
“I am very excited about this opportunity and what it means to my career,” Tanguay said. “This represents a big step forward toward achieving my goals. I am really looking forward to having the opportunity to compete at the next level and to gain more experience.”
While at Oklahoma, Tanguay competed in all 44 team events during her tenure and ranks second all-time in OU career scoring average (74.09; +2.44). The Quebec City, Quebec, native was a two-time honorable mention All-American and was a key member of the 2013-14 Sooner squad that finished a program-best fourth place at the 2014 NCAA Championships. Tanguay ranks second in the OU record book in par-or-better rounds (38) and birdies (338) and finished in the top 10 in 34 percent of her career collegiate events.
