NORMAN -- The University of Oklahoma wrestling squad returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Thursday, Jan. 8, as it faces American inside Bender Arena in Washington.

The Sooners are coming off an appearance at the inaugural Aloha Open, a round-robin tournament where redshirt sophomores Clark Glass (165 pounds) and Ross Larson (heavyweight) won their individual weight classes.

Four of OU's probable starters are ranked in at least one poll this week. Redshirt junior Cody Brewer enters the dual as the top-ranked wrestler at 133 pounds, according to Amateur Wrestling News. He is also No. 2 in both the InterMat and The Open Mat polls.

At 157 pounds, redshirt junior Justin DeAngelis is ranked No. 13/11/16 by InterMat/TOM/AWN, and Larson is tabbed at No. 12/9/8. Glass is ranked for this first time this season, coming in at No. 19 at 165 pounds in AWN's poll.

His tenure included the school's first national champion, 14 All-Americans, 16 NCAA qualifiers and 21 academic All-Americans. In 2011, Cody was named the NWCA National Wrestling Coach of the Year.
