Nine Oklahoma track and field athletes were named All-Academic individuals for the 2013-2014 season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
To qualify for the award, student-athletes must have had a cumulative grade point average of 3.25. For the award in indoor competition, a student-athlete needed to finish the regular season in the top 96 in an individual event or in the top 48 in a relay event. For the award in outdoor competition, a student-athlete had to participate in any round of the NCAA Division I championships.
Five men from the Sooner squad were recognized. Outdoor honorees included Alex Deir (communication, 3.42) in steeplechase, Brandon Doughty (multidisciplinary studies , 3.82) in steeplechase, Garrison LeRock (computer engineering3.28) in high jump and TJ Noonan (chemical engineering, 3.52) in javelin.
Everette Favor (petroleum engineering, 3.46) earned his award for the indoor pole vault.
On the women's squad, four student-athletes were honored. Outdoor All-Academic honorees include Avione Allgood (criminology, 3.42) in javelin, Molly Williams (human resources management, 3.86) in 1500 meter and Alex Morgan (psychology, 3.34) in discus.
Rylee Rackley (multidisciplinary studies, 3.33) earned her award for the indoor weight throw.
In addition, the Oklahoma women's team received academic honors with a cumulative team GPA of 3.219. To be considered for a team award, the cumulative GPA had to be at least a 3.00.
