NORMAN -- The University of Oklahoma wrestling team (4-4 overall) faces Hofstra (4-5 overall) at noon CT on Sunday inside the Mack Sports Complex in Long Island, N.Y.
The Sooners are coming off a 30-13 victory at American on Thursday night. OU won seven matches on the night, including three via falls from Shayne Tucker (149 pounds), Matt Reed (174 pounds) and Ross Larson (heavyweight).
Ranked Competitors
Four of OU's probable starters are ranked in at least one poll this week. Redshirt junior Cody Brewer enters the dual as the top-ranked wrestler at 133 pounds, according to Amateur Wrestling News. He is also No. 2 in both the InterMat and The Open Mat polls.
At 157 pounds, redshirt junior Justin DeAngelis is ranked No. 13/11/16 by InterMat/TOM/AWN, and Larson is tabbed at No. 12/9/8. Redshirt sophomore Clark Glass is ranked for this first time this season, coming in at No. 19 at 165 pounds in AWN's poll.
Hofstra enters the dual with two ranked starters in Jamel Hudson (141 pounds) and Cody Ruggirello (149 pounds). Hudson sits at No. 17 in the InterMat poll and as high as No. 12 according to TOM, while Ruggirello is ranked No. 20 by InterMat.
