NORMAN, Okla. -- The seventh-ranked University of Oklahoma women's golf team returns to the course this weekend for the SunTrust Gator Invitational. The 14-team tournament will be played Friday-Sunday (March 14-16) at the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla.
The Sooners are coming off a tie for third place at last weekend's Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head Island, S.C. OU recorded a three-round 885 (+33) at the 15-team event, which featured 13 teams ranked in Golfweek's top 30. Senior Anne-Catherine Tanguay led the Sooners, logging a 54-hole 216 (+3) and finishing in eighth place.
Sooners head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell said she is excited to see how her team measures up in another strong field.
“This is a quick turnaround for us, but when we get invited to a great event like this it's hard to turn it down,” Drouin-Luttrell said. “It definitely helps that the girls are great students. We have a tough tournament schedule this semester and this is the best way for us to compare ourselves with other teams. This event is also another good one for us. We played here last year and enjoyed it.”
Teams will start play at 8 a.m. CT Friday.

THE COURSE
The 6,002-yard, par-70 Mark Bostick Golf Course is the host site for the 2014 SunTrust Gator Women's Golf Invitational.
FORMAT
Teams will compete in 54 holes of stroke play over three days (18 holes each Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Play will begin at 8 a.m. CT Friday and Saturday at holes 1 and 10, and at 8 a.m. CT Sunday with a shotgun start.
OU AT THE SUNTRUST GATOR INVITATIONAL
Last season, the Sooners finished in second place in the event after carding an 868 (+28). Chirapat Jao-Javanil won medalist honors, recording a career-low 206 (-4).
