NORMAN -- The No. 21 University of Oklahoma wrestling team travels to Brockport, N.Y., to compete in the annual Brockport/Oklahoma Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 8, in the Special Events Recreation Center on Brockport's campus. The action is slated to begin at 9 a.m. CT, with finals expected to start at 4 p.m. CT.

Fourth-year OU head coach Mark Cody said this tournament gives his young squad another opportunity to see where it is at currently.

"What we are trying to get across to them as Oklahoma wrestlers is that we expect them to go out and dominate and be very aggressive," Cody said. "They showed that last week (in the season-opening duals), and I hope that they come out and take their intensity up a notch this weekend."

OU, who serves as co-host for the event with Brockport, is the only team to ever take home the tournament title, winning the championship for 15 straight years. Other teams participating include Army, Buffalo, Bloomsburg, Kent State and Lock Haven.

Twenty-two OU wrestlers will compete in the tournament this season. Three Sooners are currently ranked by InterMat, including redshirt junior Cody Brewer (No. 4 at 133 pounds), redshirt senior Justin DeAngelis (No. 12 at 157 pounds) and redshirt sophomore Ross Larson (No. 11 at heavyweight).

At last year's event, Brewer and DeAngelis were two of six Sooners to claim titles in their respective weight classes. Clark Glass and Larson both posted runner-up showings. As a team, OU secured the championship with 168.0 points, 35 points ahead of second-place Bloomsburg.

On the season, OU is 3-0 after recording three dual victories against Baker University, Shorter University and Oklahoma City University last Saturday in Norman. The Sooners were dominant on the day, winning by scores of 50-0, 34-6 and 40-4, respectively.
