Sooners in San Antonio for Last Fall Event
October 31, 2014 | Women's Golf
The Sooners are coming of a tie for ninth place at the Alamo Invitational in San Antonio. OU logged a three-round 877 (+13) to finish 36 strokes behind tournament champion and 23rd-ranked LSU. Freshman Ana Ruiz led the Sooners, carding a 220 (+4) and tying for 32nd place out of 78 competitors.
Sixth-year OU head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell said she is excited to see how her team performs in its last fall tournament.
“This is our last event of the fall and I believe we've grown as a team since August,” Drouin-Luttrell said. “We have a very young team with a lot of talent and I hope we built confidence from playing better at the Alamo Invitational. The Jim West Challenge is a new tournament this year and we are excited to be part of the inaugural event.”
The Sooners will tee off Sunday at 10:30 a.m. CT from the No. 10 tee box. Live stats will be available at BirdieFire.com.
