NORMAN -- The No. 23 University of Oklahoma wrestling team begins its 2014-15 season as it welcomes Baker University, Oklahoma City University and Shorter University to the Lloyd Noble Center for a four-team dual event at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Admission is free, and fans should enter on the west side of the facility.
Duals will be held on two mats at once, with each team facing the other three squads. The schedule is as follows:
Match 1: OU vs. Baker, OCU vs. Shorter
Match 2: OU vs. Shorter, OCU vs. Baker
Match 3: OU vs. OCU, Shorter vs. Baker
After losing five seniors from last year's starting lineup, the Sooners will look to two-time All-American Cody Brewer and returning NCAA qualifiers Justin DeAngelis and Ross Larson to provide leadership to a young squad.
The trio are also ranked in InterMat's preseason poll individually, with Brewer No. 4 at 133 pounds, DeAngelis No. 12 at 157 pounds and Larson No. 13 at heavyweight.
"These duals will be a good place to start," said Mark Cody, fourth-year OU head coach. "This will give us a good gauge for where this young team is at to this point."
