Round-Two Results

NORMAN -- The University of Oklahoma women's golf team moved up one spot after Monday's second round of the 15-team Alamo Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, to seventh place with a 584 (+8). The 6,428-yard, par-72 Briggs Ranch Golf Club serves as the host course for the tournament.

The Sooners, who shot an opening-round 291 (+3) Sunday, logged a second-round 293 (+5). No. 23-ranked LSU sits in first place at 563 (-13), No. 7 Arkansas is in second place at 567 (-9) and No. 19 Auburn is in third at 570 (-6).

OU freshmen Rylee Pedigo and Ana Ruiz are tied for 17th place out of 78 competitors at 145 (+1). Pedigo had her best round of the season, shooting an even-par 72 Monday to add to her first-round 73 (+1). Ruiz recorded a second-round 74 (+2) after tying a season best Monday with a 71.

Freshman Hannah Wood and sophomore Alexandra Kaui share 43rd place with a two-round 149 (+5). Wood improved by three strokes in the second round, shooting a 73 (+1), while Kaui shot a 78 (+6).

OU sophomore Maggie Neece also improved in the second round, registering a 74 (+2) to add to her first round 80 (+8). Neece is tied for 61st place.

Sixth-year OU head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell said she was happy with consistency with which her team has played so far in the tournament.

“We played solid again on day two,” Drouin-Luttrell said. “It's very encouraging to see everyone play better. This gives us some positive momentum going into the final round tomorrow.”
