NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma senior Jacy Bennett was among the 10 women student-athletes named to the Capital One Academic All-District track and field first team, it was announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America. She will advance to the national ballot and is eligible for Academic All-America® honors.

For Bennett, a native of Mesa, Ariz., this marks her third consecutive district honor. She recently was one of three OU student-athletes to graduate as a member of the Class of 2013 with a 4.00 GPA. A 2012 CoSIDA Academic All-America third team honoree, Bennett's degree came in supply chain management.

She is a three-time Academic All-Big 12 first team honoree and was named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic team in 2012 as well. She earned President's Honor Roll (4.00 GPA) awards eight times during her Sooner career. Additionally, she was named to the Sooner Scholar list and the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll eight times. She received the Big 12's Gerald Lage Award, the highest academic honor the conference gives, earlier this year.

Bennett finished 10th at both the Big 12 Indoor and Outdoor Championships in 2013. She set a collegiate best of 12-6.75 in the pole vault at the 2012 Big 12 Outdoor Championship, the fourth best mark in school history. She tied for fourth at the 2012 Big 12 Indoor meet with a 12-9.50. She posted two marks over 12-0 feet as a senior after having 10 marks over 12-0 in 2012.
