Women's Golf Travels to Stillwater for Bedlam Cup

NORMAN, Okla. - The No. 4 Oklahoma women's golf team will travel to Stillwater, Okla., to play No. 16 Oklahoma State in an exhibition match-play event Saturday, April 27. The Bedlam Cup will be held at Karsten Creek Golf Club and will mark the third ever head-to-head meeting between the in-state rivals (second since 1977).
Oklahoma has posted seven top-three finishes in its nine tournaments this season, while Oklahoma State has finished in the top three in four events. The Cowgirls are coming off a win at the Big 12 Championship.
"We are excited to be playing the Bedlam Cup again this year," said OU head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell. "The girls had a blast last year and are ready to get out there and compete."
The squads will tee off at 8 a.m. with groups of four participating in an alternating-shot match-play competition (three matches featuring two players from each school) for the first round. An afternoon round featuring one-on-one matches is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. CT.
OSU edged the Sooners in last year's Bedlam Cup in Norman, 6-5.
The next official event for OU is NCAA regional play May 9-11. The 72-team NCAA field will be announced Monday, April 29, at 8 p.m. CT, and the Sooners will host the NCAA Central Regional at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club. The NCAA Championships will be held May 21-24 in Athens, Ga.
