NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma track and field team opens its outdoor season this weekend with the Tulsa Duels, scheduled Friday and Saturday, March 15-16 at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Oklahoma has 26 student athletes scheduled to compete this weekend in various different events. Thirteen throwers will be on hand in Tulsa, along with four distance runners and a handful of sprinters.
The meet kicks off with two events on Friday afternoon in Stillwater, Okla. The women's hammer throw will begin at 1:00 p.m. CT, with men to follow. The women and men's javelin competition will wrap up Friday's action, beginning at 7 p.m. CT.
Saturday's events will begin at 9 a.m. with the men and women's discus throw. Remaining field events, including the long jump, high jump, pole vault, triple jump and shot put will begin shortly after. The final heats will start at 1 p.m. Saturday and wrap up later that afternoon.
Running events will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday on a rolling schedule – women first with men to follow. All races will be timed finals in Tulsa.
