NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma track and field programs are ranked in the top 25 of the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association rankings, the organization announced today. The Sooner women are seventh, while the men are No. 23. Oklahoma's men are eighth in the Midwest region, while the women are sixth.
Oklahoma has four student-athletes ranked in the top 10 nationally in their respective events. Senior Eric Cray ran 51.15 seconds in the men's 400-meter hurdles this past weekend at the Texas Relays. Cray's time is a collegiate-best and ranks No. 10 on the event list. Senior Luke Bryant won the discus title at the meet. His best mark this season of 198 feet, four inches came on March 17 at the Tulsa Duels and is the second best in the nation this year.
Senior Brittany Borman won the women's discus title at the Texas Relays with a mark of 181-6, the third best in the nation this year. Senior Ti'Anca Mock is fifth in the long jump with a mark of 21-6 also set at the Texas Relays.
The Sooners are back in action this weekend at the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Ariz., and the Stanford Invitational in Stanford, Calif.
