Williams Finishes Weekend Strong

STANFORD, Calif. – University of Oklahoma redshirt junior Kevin Williams closed out track and field's weekend on Sunday evening with a spectacular performance in section two of the men's 5,000-meter run at the Payton Jordan Invitational. Williams ran a collegiate-best 13 minutes, 39.87 seconds to finish as the top collegiate finisher, second overall. The time is the second-best in program history at Oklahoma.

Williams moved up throughout the race, finishing strong and passing 23 other runners. His time ranks as one of the nation's best this year and the third best in the Big 12 this year.

Frezer Legesse and Malcolm Wankel also ran on Sunday in the men's 800-meter run.
