AUSTIN- The University of Oklahoma women's rowing team ended the first day of the Longhorn Invitational. The Sooners faced off against the University of San Diego in its second regatta of the 2012 spring season.

Friday Results from Longhorn Invitational

The Sooners took two from San Diego in the varsity events as the second varsity eight finished with a time of 7:39.7 to 8:06.9 and the varsity eight beat USD with a time of 7:21.0 to 7:30.9. The second varsity four and the varsity four fell to San Diego. The second varsity four finished with a time of 8:55.0 to USD's 8:44.0, and the varsity four finished with a time of 8:46.5 to USD's time to 8:35.6.

OU's novice teams both fell to Texas on the day. The second novice eight finished with a time of 8:11.3 to UT's time of 8:09.0 while the novice eight finished with a time of 7:57.8 to UT's time of 7:52.2.

OU returns to action Saturday morning at 8:50 a.m. with the novice boats taking on Texas again and the varsity boats facing off against SMU. Last weekend the Sooners swept the Mustangs in all the varsity events at the OU Invitational in Oklahoma City.
