NORMAN, Okla. –The No. 25-ranked Oklahoma women's tennis team hosts North Texas Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 1 p.m., at the Gregg Wadley Indoor Tennis Pavilion.
Oklahoma (2-0, 0-0 Big 12) is coming off back-to-back wins as OU hosted a doubleheader with Drake and Arkansas. The Sooners defeated Drake, 6-1, before shutting out UALR, 7-0.
“I am expecting a tough match with North Texas tomorrow,” OU head coach David Mullins said. “They are very deep this year and will challenge us to play well at every spot.”
North Texas (1-0) enters Tuesday's match following its 5-2 win over Lamar in the Mean Green's season opener on Saturday, Jan. 21.
OU leads the all-time series with North Texas, 8-3. The Sooners won the last meeting between the two teams, 7-0, on Feb. 3, 2010 in Norman.
The Sooners won all six doubles matches Saturday and took 10 of its 11 singles victories in straight-sets. The Sooners' only loss on the day was at the No. 2 singles position against Drake.
