NORMAN, Okla. — The NCAA javelin champion, Brittany Borman, was named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Third Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) the organization announced Thursday.
A junior from Festus, Mo., Borman receives the honor two weeks after claiming the NCAA title in the javelin. A Health & Exercise Sciences major, Borman also won the Big 12 title in the javelin as well as the discus. In her two years at Oklahoma, Borman has claimed three Big 12 titles and three All-America honors.
She now turns her attention to the USA Track and Field Championships beginning today in Eugene, Ore., where she is No. 5 among Americans in the javelin and No. 11 in the discus.
