NORMAN, Okla. — Just three days after sweeping the Big 12 100- and 200-meter dash titles, Oklahoma junior Mookie Salaam was added back on the watch list for The Bowerman Award Wednesday morning by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The award, track and field's equivalent of the Heisman, is presented to nation's top track and field athlete over the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Salaam, who was on the watch list for a portion of the indoor season, clocked the world's second-fastest 200-meter dash with an American-leading time of 20.05 Sunday in Norman at the Big 12 Championships. With his wins in the 100 and 200, Salaam pulled off the sprints sweep after accomplishing the feat in the indoor season where he claimed Big 12 crowns in the 60- and 200-meter dash.

Salaam will also be gunning for more NCAA trophies after winning the NCAA title in the 200-meter dash. The nation's top-ranked athlete in the 60-meter dash was denied a chance to sweep the NCAA titles in the sprints by a tweaked left hamstring.

Salaam enters next week's NCAA West Preliminary Round in Eugene, Ore., ranked No. 1 nationally in the 200 and No. 8 nationally in the 100.
