DENTON, Texas — With a shortened roster in action Saturday at the North Texas Classic, Oklahoma Track and Field athletes claimed titles in three events along with 13 top-three finishes. K.P. Singh (hammer throw), Shawna Anderson (100-meter dash) and Alexandra Acker (pole vault) all claimed event wins in an early-season tune-up for the Sooners.

Singh claimed a wire-to-wire victory in the men's hammer throw as he finished with a top throw of 213-0 (64.92). The senior claimed the lead with his first throw and never looked back, eventually winning the event by 39 feet. Holden Mitchell earned third with a toss of 171-2 (52.17).

Acker cleared the third-best outdoor height in Oklahoma history as she won the women's pole vault with a clearance of 12-9.50 (3.90). The West Virginia transfer broke the OU indoor record this year and is just six inches away from the Oklahoma outdoor record.

Anderson made her outdoor debut and responded with a win in the women's 100-meter dash, covering the straight-away in a time of 11.49.

Chenale Smith cleared a personal best in the women's high jump as she finished second with a height of 5-8.75 (1.75). Smith's height equaled that of the event's winner, SMU's Victoria Leks, although the sophomore took two jumps to clear the final height. Classmate Kristen Rice took third with a height of 5-7.00 (1.70).

The women's discus added two more Oklahoma top-three finishes as Brittany Borman finished second with a throw of 177-4 (54.12). Kelsey Poljansek took third with a throw of 166-1 (50.63), the fifth best in program history.

The men's discus also saw Sooners take second and third as Luke Bryant was the top collegiate finisher behind an unattached athlete with a throw of 182-8 (55.67). Singh was third with a toss of 177-10 (54.20).

Two freshmen earned third-place finishes as Landon Sharp cleared 6-5.00 (1.96) in the men's high jump and Jesica Ejesieme clocked 14.14 in the 100-meter hurdles. Bailey Wagner rounded out Oklahoma's placers, finishing third in the hammer throw with a distance of 158-3 (48.24).
