NORMAN, Okla. — The Oklahoma Track and Field men's team moved up to the nation's top 10 while the OU women remained at No. 4 in the latest national rankings released Tuesday by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). With the men up to No. 10, Oklahoma is one of just two Big 12 programs to have both the men's and women's teams in the nation's top 10, joining Texas A&M who holds down the No. 1 spot on both sides heading into the last weekend of regular season action.  The OU women have not fallen lower than No. 9 this season while the men are enjoying their second foray into the nation's top 10.

The Oklahoma women, who hold down the USTFCCCA's top spot in the Midwest, have 15 athletes ranked nationally, nine of which are in the top 10 of their respective events. The Oklahoma men's team has 24 athletes ranked with 15 in the nation's top 25.

The throws ring boasts the highest number of athletes ranked on the women's side, accounting for eight spots, all in the top 25 with six in the top 10. Brittany Borman and Karen Shump lead the way as both are ranked in the top five of two different events. Borman is No. 2 nationally in the discus and No. 5 in the javelin. She's joined in the discus by Shump who is No. 4. Shump is also one of three Sooners ranked in the shot put, where she is No. 3 joined by No. 6 Tia Brooks and No. 17 Amy Backel. Backel also ranks fourth in the javelin, an event that see Katelyn Penner at No. 25.

In the women's sprints, Latoya Greaves leads the way at No. 5 in the 100-meter hurdles followed by Scottesha Miller at No. 8 in the 100-meter dash and No. 18 in the 200-meter dash. Miller also anchors the 4x100-meter relay that currently sits at No. 15.

Singh at no. 15 and Colin Quirke at No. 22.
