LINCOLN, Neb. — Oklahoma thrower K.P. Singh hit an NCAA provisional qualifying mark with a season best in the weight throw Friday at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational. Singh took third overall in the event with a throw of 66-1.50 (20.15). Singh was second among collegiate competitors in the event.
Singh, already the program record holder in the event, tossed the NCAA mark on his third attempt. The throw is the second-best throw in the Big 12 this season.
Oklahoma action at the event concludes Saturday with the women's shot put, an event OU has four entries in, two of which are ranked in No. 3 Karen Shump and No. 18 Amy Backel.
