NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma Track and Field program hosts its first meet of the 2010 season this Saturday when the J.D. Martin Invitational takes place inside the Mosier Indoor Facility. The No. 9 Oklahoma men and No. 15 Oklahoma women host 11 schools including in-state rivals Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts and Tulsa.
Eight of Oklahoma's 10 athletes ranked in the top 10 nationally of their respective events will be in action Saturday, including the 2009 NCAA champion the in the 60-meter hurdles, Ronnie Ash, and the season debut of the 2009 NCAA outdoor triple jump champion, Will Claye.
Action at the event kicks off at 10 a.m. with the women's long jump and the men's weight throw. Running events are slated to begin at 1 p.m. with the women's 60-meter hurdles and conclude at with 5 p.m. with the men's mile relay. The event is open to the public and admission is free. Those attending the meet are asked to park in the Duck Pond parking lot.
