PHILADELPHIA — For the second time this season, the University of Oklahoma women's 4x200-meter relay managed to break the program record Friday at the prestigious Penn Relays. The quartet of Scottesha Miller, Jalesa Walker, Sherine Wells and Leslie Cole broke their own record set earlier this season with a time of 1:33.27 in the prelims of the event to qualify for Saturday afternoon's final of the event.
The four teamed to set the record earlier this month at the Texas Relays with a time of 1:33.5 before eclipsing it with Friday's performance.
A little over an hour later, Miller returned to the track for the prelims of the women's 100-meter dash where she clocked a regional qualifying time of 11.64 to advance to the event's championship final on Saturday.
Hurdler Latoya Heath finished 18th overall in the 100-meter hurdles with a regional qualifying time of 13.87. The hurdles mark was one of two regional qualifying marks on the day for Heath who also picked one up in the triple jump with a distance of 40-10.50 (12.46), good for eighth overall.
