NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team travels to Seattle, Wash., to compete in back-to-back duals against the University of Washington on Friday, Feb. 6, and Boise State University on Saturday, Feb. 7.
The Sooners are coming off of consecutive sweeps over ORU and UTPA in their last two matches.
OU, No. 72 in the ITA top-75, will face tough competition in both matches as both teams are ranked in the ITA top-40. Boise State is No. 30, while Washington checks in at No. 39.
The Sooners are led by junior Andrei Daescu, ranked No. 44 nationally and No. 5 in the ITA Central Region. Last fall, Daescu was one of the final 16 players to participate in the Wilson/ITA Regional and National Intercollegiate Championships.
Daescu and the rest of the Sooners will face ranked opponents Clancy Shields (No. 22), Kean Feeder (No. 90) and Stanley Sarapanich (No. 85), all of which play for Boise State.
