Softball Announces Promotions

NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma marketing department has announced the 2009 promotions schedule for softball. Among the events being held are Fan Appreciation Day on April 5, Pack the Park on April 15 and Breast Cancer Awareness Day on April 18. The popular 50-cent hot dog and Coke promotion returns March 4 vs. Tulsa, March 18 vs. Northern Iowa, March 25 vs. North Texas and April 8 vs. Arkansas.
On Wednesday during OU's opening doubleheader with Stephen F. Austin, fans can pick up the 2009 team poster and schedule card. During the OU/Sooner Legends Tournament, posters and schedule magnets are available both days and the team will sign autographs after the last game on Sunday, March 1.

Fan Appreciation Day is scheduled for Sunday, April 5 against Nebraska. The first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a set of OU trading cards. The team will sign autographs following the contest and inflatable games will be available for attendees to enjoy.
On Wednesday, April 15, fans are asked to come out and support the team as the Sooners "Pack the Park" for the Bedlam contest against Oklahoma State. The first 500 fans receive OU softball megaphones.
On Saturday, April 18, the first 1,000 fans receive a pink t-shirt as the Sooners help raise breast cancer awareness. Inflatable games will be on-site and breast cancer groups are invited to attend.
Other giveaway items include growth charts (March 4), OU beanies (March 6), fan banners (March 18), mini bats (March 21), visors (March 25), mini helmets (April 1) and OU Crocs (April 19).
Season tickets for the 2009 softball season are on sale now. Fans can order tickets online or by calling (405) 325-2424 or (800) 456-GOOU. Reserved season tickets, located in the grandstand behind home plate, are $110 and general admission seating, located in the outfield and foul-line bleachers, is $80. Faculty/staff, softball letterwinners and senior citizen general admission season tickets are $60.
Group tickets are available for a discounted rate. Tickets are $4 each for groups of 10 or more. Groups of 100 or more are eligible for $3 tickets. Arrangements for group tickets must be made at least 24 hours prior to the event. Please call (405) 325-8237 for more information.
