BEIJING, China — Former University of Oklahoma athlete Danny McFarlane finished fourth in the finals of the men's 400-meter hurdles Monday at the Olympic Games in Beijing. The Jamaican native and silver medalist in the 2004 Athens Games crossed the line after three Americans in a season-best time of 48.30.
The Americans recorded a sweep on the medal stand as Angelo Taylor took gold with a personal-best 47.25, Kerron Clement came in second in 47.98 and Bershawn Jackson took third with a time of 48.06.
McFarlane entered this year's games as the No. 5 athlete in the world with a previous best time of 48.39. Clement came into the Games as the world's top-ranked athlete in the event with a time of 47.79.
