NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma Track & Field program is gearing up to hosts its third and final home meet of the 2008 outdoor season. The Sooners host the 2008 Sooner Twilight on Saturday, May 10, at the John Jacobs Track & Field Complex.
Action at the event will kick off at 11 a.m. with the women's hammer, shot put and discus. Running events begin at 2 p.m. as the women's 4x100-meter relay takes the track. The last event, the men's 4x400-meter relay, is scheduled for a 4:40 p.m. start.
The meet marks Oklahoma's final tune-up before the 2008 Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships, May 16-18, in Boulder, Colo.

The No. 21 Oklahoma women and the Oklahoma men each have 20 NCAA Regional qualifiers heading into the weekend. The Sooner women are currently the fourth-highest conference team in the latest national rankings behind No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 7 Texas Tech and No. 16 Oregon.
Leslie Cole will compete in the 200-meter dash Saturday, an event that she is ranked eighth nationally in while Latoya Greaves, ranked 10th nationally, will compete in the 100-meter hurdles. Tijahnni Newton, 21st in the 400-meter dash, will compete in the event as Scottesha Miller, ranked 21st in the long jump, will compete in the long jump along with 200-meter dash on Saturday.
Marcus Pugh, ranked 15th nationally, will take to the track in the men's 100-meter dash. Senior and four-time All-American Chip Heuser is scheduled to compete in the pole vault while Zach Dawson will run in the 400-meter hurdles, an event the sophomore is 25th nationally.
