NORMAN, Okla. -- OU softball player Amber Flores has been named the Big 12 Co-Player of the week for games March 31-April 6. It marks the second weekly award this year for Flores, who is sharing the honor with Texas A&M's Jamie Hinshaw.

Flores went 5-for-7 (0.714) from the plate last week helping Oklahoma sweep its weekend series with Missouri. The leadoff batter recorded a 0.857 slugging percentage with two RBI and six total bases while also leading the team with a .750 on-base percentage and scoring a team-best three runs. The sophomore also tallied five consecutive hits in her first five at bats.

The sophomore left fielder has been stellar for the Sooners this season as she is leading all Big 12 players with a .434 batting average also leads the league in runs scored, total bases, on-base percentage and slugging percentage.

Flores is sharing the honor with Hinshaw, who had very similar stats this week. Hinshaw was 5-for-7 with three runs scored, four RBI, a double and a home run in the Aggies' victories over Iowa State. The senior was responsible for five of A&M's 11 runs in the first game, going 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBI. With her stolen base in the first game, Hinshaw is now a perfect 12-for-12 on the season. The senior posted a 1.286 slugging percentage while increasing her overall batting average 21 points to 0.354.

Flores and the No. 7 Sooners return to Big 12 play this Thursday at the OU Softball Complex when they host the Red Raiders in a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m.
