NORMAN, Okla. -- The Sooners are on their way to the Sweet 16. In this week's installment of his video diary, Cade Cavis talks about how sweet it truly is to be a part of the NCAA Tournament.
Davis discusses the first-class treatment the team receives from the tournament committee and fills us in on what the players do during their down time.
Oklahoma meets Syracuse at 6:27 p.m. (CT) at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn. The winner will move on to the South regional final on Sunday. For complete coverage, visit
Sooner NCAA Tournament Central.
Stay up-to-date with Davis throughout the 2008-09 men's basketball season. The sophomore guard will check in periodically to discuss a variety of topics with Sooner fans and to share some insight into what's happening both on and off the court for the Sooners.
In the process, you'll get to know him as a student-athlete rather than just the guy knocking down jumpers from anywhere in the gym. Stay tuned throughout the season as Davis gives us a closer look at what it's like being a part of the Oklahoma basketball program.

Jesse Newell of the
Lawrence Journal: "This might be the only time he'll be involved in an All-Big 12 discussion, but he nearly
single-handedly brought the Sooners back against KU."
John Helsley of the
Oklahoman: "After a lull sent them into a 20-point hole, they found energy in reserves Cade Davis and Omar Leary who
led a charge back to within three points late. "I think at times..."
Guerin Emig of the
Tulsa World: "Cade Davis became a
footnote to history Saturday afternoon at the Lloyd Noble Center, a shame considering his contribution to Oklahoma's 95-74 blitzing of Texas Tech."
Guerin Emig of the
Tulsa World: "Something interesting has happened in Oklahoma's last four basketball games -- the Sooners' bench, once given up for dead, has come
very much alive."
Guerin Emig of the
Tulsa World: "'Our guards go into every game with a chip on our shoulder, because we feel we don't get
enough respect,' Warren said. It is an issue Cade Davis, who joins Crocker, Warren, Johnson and Leary in OU's backcourt rotation, noticed last year."
John Helsley of the
Oklahoman: "Cade Davis has established himself as the
clear sixth man, averaging 19.6 minutes, perimeter shooting and energy off the bench."
From Guerin Emig of the
Tulsa World:
"'One of the things that Cade does every time he's in the game, and he did this last year, is he
gives you energy,' OU head coach Jeff Capel said."
From Guerin Emig of the
Tulsa World: "Suddenly, a
natural shooter had the confidence to start firing. 'You started seeing it toward the end of last year, probably the second half of conference, and it carried over into the summer and fall workouts,' said coach Jeff Capel."
From KSBI.com: "Twelve inches could make all the difference in how the college basketball game is played this season.
'I like it,' says Cade Davis, sophomore guard."
