NORMAN, Okla. --  The University of Oklahoma indoor track & field teams open the 2008 season with a trip to Fayetteville, Ark., for Friday's Arkansas Invitational.

Oklahoma is coming off record indoor seasons on both the men's and women's side as both teams posted record finishes in Big 12 Indoor history finishing third and fourth, respectively.

The Oklahoma men, ranked 17th in the Trackwire Top 25, return Big 12 60-meter champion in Marcus Pugh and NCAA Indoor All-American pole vaulter Chip Heuser while the women also welcome back one indoor All-America honoree in triple jumper Toni Smith.

Twenty-eight newcomers dot the Oklahoma roster which welcomes back 39 student-athletes from 2007.
