Dye Earns WOGA Stroke Play Title

NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma's Kendall Dye fired a final round 2-under-par 70 to win the championship flight at the 2007 Women's Oklahoma Golf Association Stroke Play Championship Tuesday afternoon. Dye finished with a two-round total of 146 (+2) at Winter Creek Golf Club in Blanchard.
Dye, a native of Edmond, Okla., will be entering her junior season with the Sooners. The Edmond Santa Fe High School product was a first-team Academic All-Big 12 honoree as a sophomore. She also carded a career-low 68 at the Mountain View Collegiate (March 24-25), earning an OU season-best second-place individual finish.
Dye was joined at the WOGA Stroke Play Championship by teammates Heather Wright and Andrea Sellmeyer.
Wright, a senior, finished in seventh place with a 36-hole total of 154 (+10). The Houston, Texas, native started the final round in second place after recording an opening 72 on Monday.
Sellmeyer improved by eight shots on her final 18, carding a 6-over-par 78 on Tuesday to finish in 16th place (164).
The Stroke Play Championship is one of five championship events put on by WOGA each year. To be eligible for the 2007 WOGA State Stroke Play Championship players must be a WOGA member, have a USGA handicap index, be a member of a WOGA member club and be listed on the member club's complete handicap printout sheet.
