METARIE, La. - The University of Oklahoma women's track and field team and six individual men and women were recognized for their academic achievements this season by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The Sooner women were named to the 2007 USTFCCCA Division I Women's All-Academic Team for achieving a team cumulative GPA of 3.06 during the 2006-07 academic year.
The women's team had one of its best seasons ever in 2007 as they posted program-best finishes at the Big 12's indoor (fourth) and outdoor (sixth) championship meets.
Kevin Bookout, Kristi Cook, Cale Drumright, Chip Heuser, Catherine Odell and Rob Sorrell were also recognized individually for carrying cumulative GPAs of 3.25 or greater.
