NORMAN, Okla. OU seniors Norrelle Dickson and Jamie Fox were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI Softball First Team released on May 10 by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
They become only the second Sooner pair in history to earn all-district honors and first since Angie Holwell and Nicole Myers did it in 1997. OU's last Academic All-District selection was Erin Evans in 2003.
It marks the second award for Dickson to pick up this week as she was selected as one of 11 players to make the USA Softball Player of the Year cut on Wednesday. The third baseman is the career leader in hits, runs, stolen bases, batting average and on-base percentage at Oklahoma. Additionally, she is leading the Big 12 Conference for the second straight year in batting average with a .479 clip.

Fox is a two-time Academic All-Big 12 performer for the Sooners and ranks seventh in school history in career home runs. The outfielder was also selected as OU's representative for the Big 12 Spring Sports Good Works Team, which was announced earlier this season.
As first team all-district members, Dickson and Fox will be nominated for consideration for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American team. The Sooners have had six Academic All-Americans in their history.
As the postseason begins so do the award selections. The Big 12 awards will be given out Thursday night at the annual awards ceremony. Academic All-Big 12, All-Big 12 and individual awards will be handed out at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium at approximately 7 p.m. tonight.
The No. 2 Sooners (49-6, 14-4) will begin Big 12 Championship action Friday morning at 4:30 p.m. at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma will play the winner of Kansas/Iowa State, who play at 11 a.m. on Friday
