NORMAN, Okla. Sooners chalked up regional qualifying marks in six events at the 80th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays Friday as several moved on to Saturday's sprints finale under mostly cloudy skies and high 60-degree temperatures in Austin.
Kevin Bookout made his season debut in the discus throw in style, placing second in section B with a personal best throw of 186 feet, 10 inches (56.95 meters) to smash his previous best 174-1 (53.07).
The result moved Bookout from seventh on OU's all-time performance list in the event to third behind Ed Wade's 205-7 (1985) and brother Kyle's 190-9 (2003).
Yolanda Goff placed seventh overall out of 92 in the preliminary heats for her 100-meter dash season debut, running a regional qualifying mark of 11.46.

Earlier in the day, Goff teamed with Leslie Cole, Scottesha Miller and Larica Urbina to take fifth in the women's 4x100-meter prelims with a season best time of 45.11.
The women's 4x100 final is Saturday at 2 p.m. Goff will race in the 100-meter finals at approximately 3:50 p.m.
Sheldon Leith ran a personal best of 14.08 during the men's 110-meter high hurdles preliminaries, the fourth best time entering Saturday's 3:10 p.m. final in the event.
Katherine Johnson was awarded fourth place on number attempts in the women's section B high jump. The top six competitors all cleared a best of 5-8.75 (1.75).
Portia Nash was fourth in the women's section B long jump, leaping 19-1.25 (5.82).
Shardae Boutte was fourth in the men's section B long jump, leaping 23-11.50 (7.30). Frankie Wright was 10th in section A with a best of 23-6.75 (7.18).
Tydree Lewis finished fourth in the section B triple jump after recording a best of 49-7.75 (15.13).
Marcus Pugh ran the ninth fastest time overall to reach the men's 100-meter final, scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday. Pugh ran a regional qualifying mark of 10.43 in his season debut in the event.
The men's 4x100-meter relay was seventh fastest overall at 40.74 to advance to Saturday's 2 p.m. final.
The men's 4x400-meter relay won its heat in 3:12.15 to advance to its final at approximately 4:45 p.m.
Women's distance runners and All-Americans Jessica Eldridge, Kristi Cook and Catherine Odell competed in the 1,500-meter run Friday at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C.
Eldridge and Cook finished 2-3 behind three-time All-American Frances Koons of Villanova.
The top three all ran regional qualifying marks as Koons won the race in 4:20.87, Eldridge ran 4:21.25 and Cook ran a personal best 4:25.35. Odell placed 13th overall in the field of 52, clocking 4:30.91.
