NORMAN, Okla. The University of Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams closed the regular season at the UT-Arlington Open Saturday, May 6.

Though used primarily as a training session before the Big 12 Championships next week, the Sooners managed some superior performances.

Yolanda Goff continued her dominance in the short sprints, winning the 100-meter dash in 11.50 seconds.  Teammates Larcia Urbina (11.75) and Leslie Cole (11.80) finished third and fourth, respectively.

The trio teamed with Ashley Harris to win the 4x100-meter relay, clocking in at 45.13.

OU alum Shomari Wilson lost out on his battle with fellow Jamaican Ricardo Williams in the men's sprints.

Williams swept the 100 and 200 in times of 10.25 and 20.76, respectively.  Wilson finished third in the 100 (10.35) and runner-up in the 200 (21.22).

The OU women swept the sprint relays with a win in the 4x400 relay.  The squad of Ashley Harvey, Nicola Maye, Terrika Warren, and Tijahnni Newton came home in 3:46.08.

Tony Francis (14.14) earned runner-up honors in the men's 110-meter hurdles.

Dermillo Wise raced to third in the men's 400-meter hurdles in a personal best time of 51.88.

Frankie Wright placed third in the long jump with a best leap of 23 feet, 9.50 inches (7.25 meters).

Aja Clark placed fourth in the women's 1,500-meter run in 4:45.78.

Amy Backel set a new personal record en route to sixth place in the women's shot put.  Backel recorded a best of 42-4.00 (12.90).

The Big 12 Championships hosted by Baylor University in Waco, Texas, begin Friday, May 12.
