INDIANAPOLIS The NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee announced the participants for the 2006 NCAA National Indoor Track & Field Championships Monday night.

Oklahoma's Ronnie Pines, Chip Heuser, Yolanda Goff and women's distance medley relay were among the accepted entries.

The NCAA Championships will be held at the Randal Tyson Track Complex at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville Friday, March 10, and Saturday, March 11.

Pines enters the meet having run the second fastest 60-meter dash (6.60 seconds) among collegiate athletes this year.

Events Schedule | Men's Heat Sheets | Women's Heat Sheets

The junior has had a very successful debut season with the Sooners after transferring from Barton County (Kan.) Community College.  Pines won 60-meter dash event titles at the New Mexico Invitational (Jan. 28) and J.D. Martin Invitational (Feb. 4) before placing sixth at the Big 12 Championships (Feb. 25).

Pines, no stranger to championship-caliber competition, raced to third place in the 60 at the 2005 NJCAA National Indoor Championships.

Heuser is the No. 9 seeded pole vaulter, having cleared a season best of 17 feet-8.50 inches (5.40 meters), which ranks sixth on OU's all-time performance list.  The sophomore finished runner-up at the 2006 Big 12 Championships.

Goff is seeded 11th among the women's 60-meter dash field with a best run of 7.31.

The junior had a breakout season in 2006, running the second fastest 60 and fourth fastest 200-meter dashes on OU's all-time performance list as well as placing fourth and fifth, respectively, in the events at the Big 12 Championships.

OU's women's distance medley is comprised of Catherine Odell (1,200-meter leg), Tijhanni Newton (400), Kristi Cook (800) and Jessica Eldridge (1,600).

The DMR shattered the previous school record by over 15 seconds when it recorded a season best of 11:14.63 in its first outing at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational (Feb. 3).  The quartet united again three weeks later to win the Big 12 Championship over fifth-seeded Baylor by five seconds.

The men's pole vault final begins Friday at 5:35 p.m. CST.  It is followed by the men's 60-meter dash preliminary rounds (6:15 p.m.), women's 60-meter dash preliminary rounds (6:30 p.m.) and women's distance medley relay final (9:35 p.m.)
