Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays (O)

April 08, 2005 | Track and Field
The mark moved the Yukon senior into a tie for fifth place on the all-time OU career list as well.
Moore finished second in the high jump at the 2005 Big 12 Indoor meet, earning All-Big 12 honors in the indoor meet for the first time in her Sooner career. She also recorded an NCAA provisional qualifying mark, another first, and improved her career best by three inches during the indoor season.
On Friday, Moore cleared the opening height of 5-7 on her first attempt, then cleared the second height, 5-8.75 on her first attempt. She missed the first attempt at 5-10, then cleared on the second attempt. That first attempt miss proved to be the tiebreaker among the jumpers who cleared 5-10. Two jumpers cleared on their first attempt to tie for second while two jumpers cleared on their third attempt to tie for sixth. Another jumper also cleared on her second attempt at 5-10 to tie Moore for fourth place.
Jennifer Plank tied for fifth in the pole vault, clearing 12-5.50 for the second week in a row. The mark, a regional qualifier, ties her career best. She recorded the mark for the time first last at the UTA Invitational on April 2.
In other action Friday, junior Jason Stanley just missed the regional qualifying time in the 110-meter high hurdles, tying for 22nd with a 14.40, a time that was a career best for Stanley. The regional qualifying mark is 14.33. Sophomore Yolanda Goff and senior Kerri-Ann Mitchell tied for 16th in the 100-meter dash with an 11.79, just missing the qualifying standard of 11.75. This marks the second week in a row for Goff to barely miss the mark as she recorded a regional time last Saturday at UTA but the mark wasn't a legal one because the wind was 0.2 seconds over the allowable. Mitchell had a regional qualifying time last Saturday at UTA, running in a heat where the wind reading was under the allowable.
The women's 400-meter relay finished 15th with a 45.85, just off the regional qualifying mark of 45.80. The men's 400-meter relay finished 18th with a 40.77.
OU will conclude competition in the Texas Relays on Saturday and also will have entries competing in the Euler State Farm/ESU Relays in Emporia, Kan., on Saturday.
