SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The OU men's distance medley relay opened competition in the 2005 season Friday night and the quartet finished fourth in the Meyo Invitational, a race that Michigan won with the fastest time in the relay to date this season.

The foursome of Brayon Brown, Jason Coleman, Salah Hussein and Aldwyn Sappleton finished with a 10:03.33. That time is 20 second off the NCAA provisional mark.

Also competing Friday night for the Sooners were Aja Clark and Jackie Dubois, who ran in the women's 5000-meter run. Clark finished 12th with an 18:23.45 and Dubois was 14th with a 18:32.45. Clark, a sophomore transfer, posted her Sooner career best with the time and Dubois, a senior, recorded her career best in the event. The times also rank seventh and eighth on the all-time OU career best list.

The Sooners will host the J.D. Martin Invitational Saturday at the Mosier Indoor Facility. The final three events of the men's heptathlon will begin at 8:30 a.m. The field events are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Running events begin at 12:30 p.m.
